Yellville-Summit hosts Berryville to end non-conference play

High school football dominates the Friday schedule, as several teams in Arkansas will play their last games before conference play starts, and Yellville-Summit will be back in front of the home crowd. The Panthers’ non-conference finale will be against Berryville.
Yellville-Summit is currently 0-2 on the season. The Panthers are coming off a loss at Salem. Berryville has a record of 1-1. The Bobcats fell at Huntsville last week.

The celebration of Yellville-Summit’s 50th season of high school football continues this week. The teams from 2000 through 2009 will be recognized.

Kickoff at Panther Field is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Salem will play its first game as a team ranked by the Arkansas Sports Media. The Greyhounds, currently tied for fifth in Class 2A, will be at Walnut Ridge.

Also on the local Arkansas schedule, Marshall hosts Quitman, and Mountain View entertains Harrisburg. Mountain Home, Melbourne and Harrison will all be idle this week. The Goblins are currently the top-ranked team in Class 5A and seventh overall.
There is one game matching up teams ranked in the Arkansas Sports Media top ten. Top-ranked Bryant travels to Fayetteville to face the No. 4 Purple Dogs.

This will be the fourth week of the season in Missouri. West Plains is home against Springfield Kickapoo, Hollister makes the trip to Anderson to take on McDonald County, Forsyth heads to Fair Grove, Branson travels to Webb City, Ava makes the trip to Mountain View-Liberty, Willow Springs hosts Mountain Grove and Thayer heads to Salem, Missouri.
