A former high school football coach with ties to Mountain Home is accused of sharing information from his former team to opponents. According to KFSM-TV, sources say former Huntsville head coach Randy Barnhill is alleged to have sent text messages that included signals and player information to opposing coaches set to face the Eagles.

According to the sources, messages sent from Barnhill to an opposing coach were backed up onto an iPad belonging to the Huntsville football program. The Eagles were shut out by Elkins 35-0 in Week 3.

Barnhill was Huntsville’s head coach from 2016 to 2018. He was reassigned after last season and is listed as the Huntsville dean of students on the Arkansas Activities Association website. He was reportedly seen being escorted off the Huntsville High School campus Tuesday.

According to the AAA, there is no rule in the bylaws against sharing information. Any disciplinary action would be the school’s responsibility.

Huntsville School District’s superintendent says it’s a personnel matter, and the school has no comment. KFSM’s attempts to reach out to Barnhill and Huntsville Athletic Director Tom McCollough have been unsuccessful.

Barnhill is a former employee of the Mountain Home School District. He served as an assistant high school football coach and the head boys’ soccer coach for the Bombers.
