ForeignerSome disappointing news for Foreigner fans. Original frontman Lou Gramm is going to have to sit out a few of those Foreigner Double Vision: Then & Now Tour shows.
“Lou Gramm was hospitalized in Rochester, NY last week with a severe respiratory infection, dehydration and fatigue,” Foreigner tweeted Tuesday night. “He had hoped to be ready for the FOREIGNER Double Vision: Then & Now tour. Unfortunately, today his doctor pronounced him unable to perform at these shows.”
For his part, Gramm, 69, added that he was “very disappointed” by the news, adding, “My doctor insists if I pushed myself to perform, I would be in big trouble. So doctor’s orders, I ride the bench. Rock on!”
There was no word as of Tuesday night regarding how long Gramm will remain on the bench, or indeed if the band will play the shows without him, although Pollstar reports they will. The shows included sets featuring both Gramm and current Foreigner frontman Kelly Hansen.
The next tour stop’s scheduled for Wednesday night at the Mohegan Sun Area in Uncasville, Connecticut.
