Now, the film, also called Space Between, has debuted on Hagar’s official YouTube channel.

The 36-minute flick features surreal, cartoonish video segments for each of the album’s 10 tracks, tied together with footage of Hagar explaining the story and themes behind the songs, along with scenes of Sammy playing the tunes with The Circle — bassist Michael Anthony, drummer Jason Bonham and drummer Vic Johnson. The film also includes footage of Hagar and The Circle at Sammy’s 2018 High Tide Beach Party festival.

Space Between tells the story of a man who, after inheriting a lot of money, proceeds to lose it gambling and partying as he yields to greedy temptations offered by a satanic character. He then lives a carefree life for a while, before getting the chance to decide whether he will return to his old ways or seek a more enlightened future.

“It is a concept record about me and my career, as well,” Hagar reveals in the flick. “You know, doing it that way, it was just one big streak of inspiration.”

Sammy also explains the main point that he wanted to get across with the album.

“It’s about going through life, making all the mistakes, and ending up with the epiphany that, guess what, money is not evil,” he maintains. “You can heal sick people with money. You can feed the poor. You can do so many great things. You can change the world. You could stop a war with money. Greed is the problem, not money.”
