BMGRolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has premiered his cover of the Chuck Berry classic “Rock ‘n’ Roll Music,” a track from his upcoming album Mad Lad: A Live Tribute to Chuck Berry, in advance of the record’s November 15 release.

The rendition of the tune features Irish singer and songwriter Imelda May on lead vocals. The track is available as a digital single and via streaming services, and you also can check it out at Wood’s official YouTube channel.

As previously reported, the album — credited to Ronnie Wood and His Wild Five — was recorded at a November 2018 show at the Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne, U.K. The 11-track collection features renditions of nine Berry tunes, a Wood original titled “Tribute to Chuck Berry” and “Worried Life Blues,” a song by Maceo Merriweather that Chuck recorded in 1960.

“Rock ‘n’ Roll Music,” one of Wood’s favorite Berry tunes, was a top 10 hit for Chuck in 1957. The song also was famously covered by The Beatles, The Beach Boys and many other artists.

Shortly after Mad Lad‘s release, Ronnie will play a pair of U.K. shows in support of the record, on November 21 at the Shepherds Bush Empire in London and on November 25 at Birmingham Symphony Hall in Birmingham.

The album, which you can pre-order now, is available in several configurations and formats, including digitally, on CD, on heavyweight vinyl and as a super-deluxe box set featuring the CD, the LP and a limited-edition print of the Wood-created cover art, a t-shirt and a signed and numbered set list.
