Thursday volleyball results includes MH falling to Jonesboro

In high school volleyball Thursday night, Mountain Home came up short in their bid to knock off the number one team in the state, as Jonesboro defeated the Lady Bombers 3-0 at The Hanger. The Lady Hurricanes, who improve to 19-0 on the season, won by scored of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-18.

Elaine Blackmon had 18 digs for the Lady Bombers who fall to 12-3 overall and 8-2 in the 5A East Conference.

In the J.V. match, Mountain Home downed Jonesboro 25-22 and 25-23.

Kiah Beard had 24 assists and 11 digs; Riley Schmitz collected 15 digs; Kendall Carter had 12 digs, nine kills and two blocks; Mallory Pierski finished with eight kills and four blocks; Katelyn Hill had five kills and six digs; and Tatum Smith had four blocks.

Mountain Home won a close junior high match by scores of 15-25, 25-22 and 17-15.

Carson Schmitz finished with 17 assists and six digs, Cate Jackson had 15 digs, Lily Hinson had 12 digs, Emma Wilbur collected seven kills and six blocks and Lauren Wehmeyer had six kills and eight digs.

The Junior Lady Bombers improve to 13-4 overall and 8-2 in league play.
