The Mountain Home Education Foundation will host its annual Night of Honors event next Thursday, Oct. 17, at 5:30 p.m. at The Sheid on the campus of Arkansas State University-Mountain Home and tickets are still available.

This year the retired teacher honoree is Ralph Ingram, who taught math in the district for 44 years — retiring in 2007.

The Earnest Perry Retired Classified Staff honorees this year are Mike and Joy Walker. Mike was auxiliary services director for 20 years, and Joy worked on both the school building and district level during her 25 years in the district.

The distinguished alumnus honoree is Dean Sanders, a 1968 graduate of Mountain Home High School and a former president and CEO of Sam’s Club.

The community partner honoree this year is Baxter Regional Medical Center — an organization that partners with the district to teach students health-related skills and to introduce students to healthcare careers.

Jennifer Seaman,  executive director of the MHEF, says she looks forward to the event this year. Seaman says, “This is an incredible group of honorees, and we are excited to highlight each of them and share the ways they have contributed to the lives of students, colleagues, and friends.”

There are still seats available at the event for $45 (including dinner), and they can be reserved by contacting Seaman at the foundation office at 425-1228 or by emailing mhef@mhbombers.com. Those who are interested in donating to the MHEF in honor of one of this year’s Hall of Honor inductees can visit mountainhomeeducationfoundation.com to donate.
