One lane of traffic across the Norfork Dam will be closed for a year beginning Tuesday. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced the lane closure on Arkansas Highway 177 will begin Oct. 15 and continue through Oct. 15, 2020, from 8 until 5 each day.
Closures will start in the northbound lane and switch to the southbound lane in May. The closure has been coordinated with local emergency and law enforcement agencies.
Anyone traveling in the Norfork Dam area should expect traffic delays, obey flagmen and drive cautiously around equipment and work crews.
