Films focusing on Bob Dylan, David Crosby and Linda Ronstadt nab Critics' Choice Documentary Awards nods

Courtesy of Netflix; Sony Classics; Greenwich EntertainmentThe nominees have been announced for the fourth annual Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards, and among the films in the running for multiple honors are movies focusing on or featuring Bob Dylan, David Crosby and Linda Ronstadt.

Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese has received three nominations: Best Music Documentary, Best Archival Documentary and Most Innovative Documentary.

David Crosby: Remember My Name and Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice also received a nod for Best Music Documentary, as did Amazing Grace and Western Stars, which focus, respectively, on Aretha Franklin and Bruce Springsteen.

In addition, Remember My Name and The Sound of My Voice will vie for the Best Biographical Documentary, while Crosby and Ronstadt are nominated in the Most Compelling Living Subjects of a Documentary category in conjunction with their respective films.

Meanwhile, A.J. Eaton, the director of David Crosby: Remember My Name, is nominated for the Best First Documentary Feature prize, while Springsteen will vie for the Best Narration honor for his work on Western Stars.

The 2019 Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards will be handed out at a gala ceremony held on Sunday, November 10, at BRIC in Brooklyn, New York. Property BrothersJonathan Scott will host the event, which is presented by the Critics Choice Association.
