The Gassville City Council met for two hours Tuesday night to deal with a lengthy agenda. Mayor Jeff Braim says the council heard the second reading of a pair of ordinances. One is to update salaries to meet the new minimum wage requirements effective Jan. 1 and the other concerns changes to requirements for obtaining a business occupancy license.

The Gassville City Council appropriated $5,000 from savings to the water/waste water account and also approved several line item expenditures for the water/waste water department.

The council also heard the first reading of the franchise fee ordinance, which covers Yelcot, Suddenlink, Ritter Communications, Entergy and Black Hills Energy. The second reading will be heard at the November meeting.
