
Marion’s high-powered offense proved to be too much to handle Friday night, as the Patriots spoiled Mountain Home’s homecoming. Brad Haworth has the details.

Marion quarterback Daedrick Cail put on a show Friday night, leading his Patriots to a 56-3 win over Mountain Home. Cail completed 26 of 32 passes for 425 yards and six touchdowns.
The Patriots scored on five of their first six possessions. Mountain Home took the opening kickoff and marched to the 14 of Marion, before losing a fumble. The Patriots needed just four plays to cover 82 yards for their first score, when Cail hooked up with Cayden Hunt. The duo would connect again on their next possession. Cail hit Slade Webb with a 64 yard scoring strike late in the first quarter to put the Patriots up 21-3. The Mountain Home points came on a 23-yard field goal by Carlos Cardenas.
In the second quarter, Cail and Hunt hooked up for their third touchdown pass of the night. D.J. Johnson caught a 36-yard scoring strike, and Marion led 35-3 at halftime.
In the second half, Webb caught his second touchdown pass and Anthony Price had a two-yard touchdown run. Marion added a late touchdown for the final margin of victory.
Marion put up 566 yards of total offense in the game, with 404 yards coming in the first half. The Bombers gained 160 yards on the night.
Marion improves to 3-4 on the season and 2-2 in the 6A East Conference.
Mountain Home falls to 0-7 and 0-4. The Bombers travel to Sylvan Hills next Friday.
