A Midway man was arrested after leading authorities Thursday on a high-speed chase from Cotter to Yellville. Eighteen-year-old Micah Nachtsheim is out on bond, after being booked on a felony count of fleeing and a count of speeding.

According to an arrest report from the Cotter Police Department, a vehicle was observed driving 63 miles per hour in a 50 zone. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop near the intersection of U.S. Highway 62/412 and Denton Ferry Road, but the driver allegedly refused to stop.

The vehicle reportedly passed traffic on the bridge and into Marion County with speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. The driver eventually turned into Layton Cemetery in Yellville’s eastern city limits. He was taken into custody by a Marion County deputy and identified as Nachtsheim.

Nachtsheim was transferred to the custody of the Cotter Police Department and later transported to the Baxter County Detention Center. He was released over 3 1/2 hours, after being booked on a bond of $2,500.
