Holy Smokes sweeps top honors at Hillbilly Chili Cook-off

Holy Smokes BBQ and Catering racked up the honors and the cash at the Hillbilly Chili Cook-off Saturday at Bull Shoals-White River State Park in Lakeview. Holy Smokes won both the Judged Homestyle Chili and the People’s Choice contests, and as a result, the Mountain Home restaurant left with a total of $700.

Chef A.J. Reuscher of Flippo’s Carefree Living in Bull Shoals finished second in the Judged Homestyle Chili contest and third in the People’s Choice contest. Chef Reuscher took home $350.

Hope Center Church in Mountain Home ended up with $100, after taking third place in the Judged Homestyle Chili competition. Danette Gocio was second in the People’s Choice contest and left with $150.

In addition, Beaman Realty of Lakeview had the Best Decorated Vendor’s Booth, and Lakeview Auto Sales of Mountain Home was picked for the Best Decorated Cook’s Booth award.
