An Ozark County man, 34-year-old Bryan Mohr of Gainesville, has been sentenced to two years in the Missouri Department of Corrections, after entering a guilty plea to a charge of second-degree statutory rape.

The Ozark County Times reports the sentence handed down last week by Circuit Judge Craig Carter requires Mohr to complete the Missouri Sexual Offender Program while in prison and register as a sex offender once he is released.

Mohr, who has been held in the Ozark County Jail since Dec. 11, will get credit for the 10 months he’s served.

The allegations regarding the charge involve the rape of a 16-year-old girl sometime between Nov. 3 and Dec. 1, 2018.

Another case, originally filed on Aug. 15, 2018, charged Mohr with statutory rape and statutory sodomy of a 16-year-old girl. That case was dropped after the prosecution was unable to produce a witness willing to testify before a court or jury; however, the designation of being dropped “without prejudice” means the case can be refiled within the statute of limitations.

The victims in those two cases are identified with different initials in court documents, indicating they involve two different girls.

According to the probable cause statement in the most recent case, officers were notified by an Ozark County school administrator on Dec. 4 that a student confided to a member of the school personnel she had been raped.

A Division of Family Services investigator, along with Ozark County Sheriff’s Department officers, arrived at the school to make contact with the student and investigate the incident.

The student reportedly detailed an instance in which Mohr, a relative of her mother’s boyfriend, stayed the night at their home within the previous month, sometime between Nov. 3 and Dec. 1.
