The Mountain Home Police Department is reminding citizens to consider removing their valuables from their parked and unattended vehicles and locking their doors while the department is investigating a series of break-ins. Police Chief Carry Manuel says while a vehicle may be entered at any time, it’s even more important to lock vehicles or secure them in a garage or other facility during the nighttime hours.

The department has received 12 recent reports of vehicle entries. Vehicles have been left unlocked, and most have been entered while parked in residential areas after 8 p.m. The most commonly stolen items are weapons, money, identification cards, membership cards, watches, prescription drugs, laptop computers, checkbooks, knives and safes.

Investigations are continuing into the thefts. Anyone with information to assist investigators can contact the Mountain Home Police Department at 870-425-6336 or any other law enforcement agency. Secure messages can also be sent online at mtnhomepolice.com.
