This law is active two weeks before and after Halloween.

Sheriff Montgomery says fortunately, there have not been any issues with children and registered sex offenders at Halloween activities reported to his department.

However, he says he had visited with lawmakers and encouraged this new legislation for Arkansas, as many other states have done.

Montgomery notes the Baxter County Sheriff’s website provides information about registered sex offenders.
