Record-setting rainfall continues through October

As November begins, Mountain Home already ranks in the top 10 of the most rainfall ever received in a single year with two months left to go. In Mountain Home, 61.13 inches of rain have fallen, which ranks 2019 at the eighth wettest of all time. If “average” rainfall occurs in November and December, 2019 could finish as the second wettest of all time. The wettest year in history was in 1927 when 74.54 inches of rain fell, which means we are still 13.41 inches away from the number one spot.With the 61.13 inches of rain recorded at the KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot Studios, the official reporting station in Mountain Home for the National Weather Service, we are now 24.49 inches of rain ahead for the year to date average. Normal rainfall through the end of October is 36.64 inches.

For the month of October, 6.52 inches of rain were recorded, which is 3.38 inches above the normal monthly rainfall of 3.14 inches. The heaviest daily rainfall for the month was recorded on the 7th when 2.29 inches of rain fell.

There were no monthly temperature records set. The highest temperature was 90 reached on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of the month. The coldest temperature was on the 31st, with a low of 31.
