The opening of a medical cannabis dispensary east of Mountain Home has been pushed back, according to a Plant Family Therapeutics Facebook post.

The post notes dispensary owners have encountered a handful of delays delaying the anticipated fall opening. Details on the delays were not specified.

In an interview with KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot news in mid-August, Clint Mickle, one of the owners of Plant Family Therapeutics, said the facility was on target for a fall opening.

The Facebook post notes owners are now expecting to receive the certification of occupancy in late December. The certificate of occupancy will put them on track for state inspection by the end of December or the first of January.

Mickle said in August as the community awaits the opening of the dispensary, the owners and investors are encouraged by the feedback they are receiving.

Plant Family Therapeutics is one of 32 dispensaries to be located across Arkansas in eight zones established by the state, with the idea of creating less travel time for patients in more rural regions of the state. The awarding of the dispensary licenses, as well as five for growing medical cannabis, follows Arkansas voters approving the state’s Medical Marijuana Amendment in 2016.

As construction nears an end, the dispensary developers say they will begin conducting employment interviews. They note they have numerous resumes on file, but they will be posting a couple of positions in the coming weeks requiring specific experience.
