In a message posted on his official website, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and longtime recovery advocate reports that the new record will focus on the same themes that he tackled on Clean Getaway, including addiction, recovery, hope and inspiration.  According to Byrd, the album includes “[l]oud and proud rockers, beautiful acoustics and all points in between.”

In a post on his Facebook page, Byrd says the album will likely feature 12 songs, plus one bonus track. Among the musicians who contributed to the project are four drummers: ex-Wings member Steve Holley; longtime Blackhearts drummer Thommy Price; Ex-Billy Joel band member Liberty Devitto and veteran session drummer Rich Pagano.

Other musicians featured on the record include longtime Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes keyboardist Jeff Kazee, The Asbury Juke Horns and keyboardist Andy Burton, who plays with Ian Hunter‘s backing group The Rant Band.

Byrd is offering a variety of pre-order packages and bundles that he hopes will raise funds to help him complete the album. They include signed CDs and vinyl LPs, the chance to be thanked in the liner notes, handwritten lyrics, a Ricky Byrd guitar pick, a signed guitar, and the opportunity to have lunch with Ricky.

And if you have $3000 to spend, you can even have Byrd play an acoustic concert in you and your friends in your house, on top of getting a bunch of the previously mentioned goodies.
