MHHS football team ends season Thursday at West Memphis

This is the final week of the regular season for high school football in Arkansas, and Mountain Home will again wrap up its year on a Thursday. The Bombers will head toward the Mississippi River, as they meet West Memphis.

Mountain Home is 0-9 on the season and 0-6 in the 6A-East. The Bombers are coming off a Senior Night loss to Searcy.

West Memphis is 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the league. The Blue Devils shut out Pine Bluff last week.

Mountain Home head coach Bryan Mattox says West Memphis, as usual, is a solid team.

Kickoff at Ralph Hamilton-O.M. Schultz Field is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com. Coverage begins around 5:30,with Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas High School Gameday.

The remaining 6A-East games will also be played on Thursday. Searcy hosts Sylvan Hills, Jonesboro travels to Marion, and Jacksonville entertains Pine Bluff.

Salem will be the only other local team playing Thursday night, as they look to run the table in the 2A-3. It will be Senior Night for the Greyhounds, as they take on Cross County.
