The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is preparing for a full road closure across Norfork Dam. The closure on Arkansas Highway 177 will start Tuesday and continue through Friday.
Crews will be working to install equipment used to perform maintenance on the dam’s sluice gates. The closure is in conjunction with the current lane closure. After Friday, one lane will continue to be closed until Oct. 15, 2020.
Travel to locations on Highway 177 past the Norfork Dam may require a detour using Arkansas Highways 5 and 56 through Calico Rock and Arkansas Highway 223 through Pineville. For more information, contact the Corps of Engineers’ Mountain Home Project Office at 870-425-2700.
