The Mountain Home High School athletic program began another round of students continuing their athletic careers on the collegiate level Thursday. Lady Bomber senior Emma Martin signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Pittsburg State University in Kansas.

Martin says she had several good options on where to go after high school, but she knew fairly quickly she wanted to become a Gorilla.

Martin has been a major part of Mountain Home’s success since she joined the high school squad during her freshman year. During the previous season, she averaged 14.5 points per game and helped lead the Lady Bombers to the Class 5A State Tournament semifinals. She has also twice been selected to the All-Conference team.

Martin will join a childhood friend on the team at Pitt State next year. Former Lady Bomber and current Highland High School senior Abby Dietsche signed with the Gorillas on Wednesday. Martin was able to attend Dietsche’s signing event in Sharp County, and Dietsche made the trip Thursday for Martin’s big day. Martin says she is looking forward to joining Dietsche on the team and rooming with her next season.
