Carter signs to play volleyball at UCA

The Mountain Home High School athletic department announced Tuesday another senior will take her talent to the collegiate level. Claudia Carter signed a national letter of intent to join the volleyball program at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.

Carter says her decision to become a Sugar Bear came in part because her campus visit felt like home.

Carter has been a four-year starter for the Lady Bombers. She has been selected All-State twice and All-Conference three times. Carter has also excelled in the sport of track and field as she was named All-Conference in 2016.

Carter and her family were not originally from Mountain Home, but she says since they’ve been in the Twin Lakes Area, she has had an outpouring of support from her team, her coaches and the community.

Mountain Home head coach Jill Daves has had the reins of the volleyball program for the last two seasons, and she says UCA is getting a player who will not only show her talent, but will also put in the work necessary to be successful.

Claudia is the daughter of Glen and Kelly Carter of Mountain Home.
