Sting among stars performing at first Global Citizen Award ceremony in December

ABC/Paula LoboSting is part of an all-star lineup of performers that will take part the first Global Citizen Prize Award ceremony, which will be held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on December 13.

The event celebrates activists who are working to end extreme poverty. Awards will be presented in five categories: World Leader, Artist, Business Leader, the Cisco Youth Leadership Award and the Global Citizen of the Year.

Pop/R&B star John Legend will host the ceremony and will perform too. The lineup also includes and Coldplay‘s Chris Martin and R&B artists Jennifer Hudson, H.E.R. and Raphael Saadiq, as well as British rapper Stormzy.

The event will be recorded, and will air in the U.S. on December 20 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, and on December 22 at 10 p.m. ET on MSNBC.

The Global Citizen organization is devoted to fulfilling the United Nations Global Goals to end extreme poverty by 2030.
