Fans attending Arkansas Razorback football games at War Memorial Stadium will now be able to purchase beer in public areas of the stadium. According to a release from Arkansas State Parks, alcoholic beverages at Razorback games have been available since 2014, but they were previously only available in suites and private club areas. The program will now be expanded to create availability for the purchase of beer to fans ages 21-and-older within designated areas in and around the stadium in Little Rock.

The Southeastern Conference had announced in May the revision of a policy that previously restricted the sale of alcohol in public areas of athletic venues. Each institution in the SEC now has the autonomy to determine the permissibility of selling alcoholic beverages in its athletic venues, subject to certain conference-wide alcohol management expectations.

Consistent with SEC guidelines, alcoholic beverages will be sold and dispensed only at designated stationary locations and not by vendors in seating areas. Identification checks will be required of every person at the point of each sale, and alcohol will be dispensed in cups. Each transaction will be limited to two servings per person. Each beer is $5, and only cash will be accepted. ATMs will be available at the stadium. Alcohol sales will be halted at the end of the third quarter.

Arkansas will take on Missouri next Friday, Nov. 29, at War Memorial Stadium. The Battle Line Rivalry has been played on Black Friday each year since 2014, but this will be the first time since 1963 for the Razorbacks and Tigers to square off in Little Rock. Tickets are available for purchase at the box office or online at wmstadium.com.
