For any parent or educator who has been challenged with helping struggling students, the Donald W. Reynolds Library’s online resources may be the answer. The library’s website, baxlib.org, provides web-based applications such as TumbleBooks and TumbleMath, Brainfuse, ProQuest, World Book and Mango Languages that are perfect for students who may need assistance in any subject.

TumbleBooks and TumbleMath use audio/visual style learning to teach math and other subjects in the form of a storybook. Children will read along and help solve problems in the process.

TumbleMath has basic math lessons like addition or subtraction and, for a little bit more of a challenge, kids could be learning about fractions as well. Another great benefit of the TumbleMath program are the tools for the parents and teachers. After each story, kids can take a short quiz to make sure they have paid attention and learned something along the way. Children’s quiz results can be tracked, allowing parents and educators to see their improvement over time.

Brainfuse is an online tutoring providers for students of all ages. Brainfuse offers live online tutoring for any subject, from AP biology to the SAT. Live tutoring is available daily from 2 until 11 p.m.

The online tutors matched with students are all tested and qualified experts, and in the event of a disconnection, another tutor will be available to take over so children can always get the help they need.

World Book and ProQuest offer age-appropriate content for use in research designed to encourage learning. World Book Kids includes thousands of articles and biographies to develop curiosity in young learners.

World Book Advanced contains up-to-the-minute access to worldwide news publications for students to develop advanced research techniques, and ProQuest contains databases and interactive media to build writing, language and computer skills.

Mango Languages is one of the most popular language and culture learning systems around the world and is designed to prepare students and expand their cultural knowledge. Mango adapts to the individual learning style of each student. This allows learning pronunciation and grammar to come naturally.

These learning tools are available free on the Donald W. Reynolds Library Student Portal page, accessible on the website at baxlib.org with a valid Donald W. Reynolds Library card or Tech Card. Tech Cards were provided free to all public school students in grades four through 10 in Baxter County.

Demos of any of these resources are available at any time.
