Michael McDonald, Yes' Jon Anderson, Bette Midler to appear on upcoming album by ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro

Timothy White; Deborah AndersonAn eclectic variety of well-known musicians and singers, including Michael McDonald, ex-Yes frontman Jon Anderson and Bette Midler will be featured on an upcoming album by Hawaiian ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro.

The album, titled Jake & Friends, will be released sometime in 2020. Other artists that will contribute to the project include former Allman Brothers Band guitarist Warren Haynes, Lyle Lovett, Jack Johnson and Ray Benson of the popular Western swing band Asleep at the Wheel. More details about the record will be announced soon.

First up for Shimabukuro will be a new studio album called Trio that he recorded with guitarist Dave Preston and bassist Nolan Verner, which will hit stores on February 14, 2020. An advance single from the record has just been released, an atmospheric instrumental version of the classic Pink Floyd song “Wish You Were Here.”

The track is available now as a digital download and via streaming services, and you also can listen to it at Shimabukuro’s official YouTube channel.

Trio also will feature a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide.”
