Thanksgiving Day has arrived, and the local Salvation Army is inviting everyone to one of its biggest annual events. The organization’s Thanksgiving luncheon will get underway at 11 a.m. and continue until 1 p.m.
The lunch is free of charge, and the Salvation Army Corps Assistant Bryan Brinlee says they want to do their part to make sure no one spends the holiday alone.
Listen:
The Salvation Army is projecting to serve 500 people at the luncheon. The meal includes turkey, ham, several side dishes and different desserts, including a couple that are sugar-free. If someone knows of an elderly individual unable to go to the Salvation Army, Brinlee says to-go plates will be available.
Listen:
Volunteers are still being sought for the Thanksgiving meal. Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to arrive by 9 a.m. at the Salvation Army’s location at 121 Arkansas Highway 201 North in Mountain Home.
