An Ozark County man, 24-year-old Jared Coddington of Thornfield, is being held in the Douglas County jail for the alleged theft of more than $25,000 in funds from a business.

In a Facebook post, Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase says Coddington was arrested in a case stemming from 2017. He says the funds were taken from MFA Agri Services over a period of several months.

Sheriff Degase says the arrest follows two officers from his department combing through receipts and sales logs to track down inconsistencies.

Coddington is being held on a bond of $15,000.

Earlier this year, Coddington was in Baxter County Circuit Court where he pled guilty to a number of charges in two criminal cases. The charges included maintaining a drug premises. He was placed on probation for 10 years.

In addition to the drug premises charge, Coddington was accused of making drug sales to a person working with law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and with unlawful use of a communications device stemming from the fact the drug sales to the confidential informant were set up using a cellphone.

In a 2017 case, Coddington was arrested when he was found in a residence where officers had already served two search warrants and made multiple arrests.

According to the probable cause affidavit, investigators note despite their efforts, they were still receiving complaints about drug activity at the house.

The sales Coddington made to the informant took place in early 2018. Officers located Coddington in Gassville. When he was arrested, he had a small plastic bag containing one gram of methamphetamine in his pants pocket.
