MH freshmen teams, 8th grade boys among basketball teams playing Monday

There’s plenty of basketball set for Monday, as Mountain Home’s two freshmen teams will be on the road to face West Memphis West. The girls’ game tips off at 5 p.m. followed by the boys’ contest.

Mountain Home’s eighth grade boys will compete on the opening night of the Norfork Junior High Tournament. The Eighth Grade Bombers are set to meet Timbo for a 5:45 tip-off.
Also on the boys’ bracket, the host Junior Panthers will square off against Izard County at 7. The girls’ game between Calico Rock and Timbo will get the tournament started at 4:30.

In other junior high basketball, Yellville-Summit travels to Eros to play Bruno-Pyatt, and Bergman makes the trip to Clinton.

On the high school level, the Bev Stone Border Classic will get underway at Omaha. In girls’ action, Marshall and Eureka Springs tip off at 4 p.m., and the host Lady Eagles meet Green Forest at 7. On the boys’ side, Cotter faces Green Forest at 5:30, and Lead Hill takes on Kingston at 8:30.

Viola’s boys will be in Walnut Ridge to begin play in the Williams Baptist University High School Tournament. The Longhorns will be paired with Maynard at 5:20 in the Southerland-Mabee Center.

The Dora girls will start action in the sixth annual Fordland Invitational Tournament. The Lady Falcons will meet the host Lady Eagles at 4.

In other high school basketball, Flippin heads to Jasper, Bakersfield hosts Couch, Gainesville’s girls entertain Willow Springs, Salem is home against Sloan-Hendrix for three girls’ games, and Mammoth Spring travels to Melbourne.
