Credit: Matthew MurphyDavid Byrne has been burning down the house at New York City’s Hudson Theatre with his Broadway production David Byrne’s American Utopia, an adaptation of the concerts he played on his tour supporting his 2018 album, American Utopia. The ex-Talking Heads frontman recently extended the show’s run from January 19, 2020, to February 16, and now he has added three new performances to the engagement.

The new performances will take place Monday, December 30; Tuesday, February 4; and Tuesday, February 11. Show times are at 8 p.m. ET. Tickets are available now at TheHudsonBroadway.com or by calling 855-801-5876.

As previously reported, David Byrne’s American Utopia features Byrne accompanied by an ensemble of percussionists, other musicians and backing singers who move freely about an almost-empty stage. The production includes songs from the American Utopia album and other Byrne solo projects, as well as several Talking Heads tunes, among them “Burning Down the House,” “Road to Nowhere,” “Once in a Lifetime,” “Slippery People” and “This Must Be the Place.”

A cast album for the show is available now as a two-CD set and digitally, while a vinyl version will be released on December 20.

David Byrne’s American Utopia began previews at the Hudson Theatre on October 4, and had its official opening on October 20.
