Less than a month after leading his team to a state championship, a local coach is receiving further recognition. Mountain Home’s Robert Blades was named the All Arkansas Preps Boys’ Cross Country Coach of the Year. Under Blades’ leadership, along with assistant coaches Clint Pevril, Philip Goodwin and Ryder Pierce, the Bomber boys took home the Class 5A state championship Nov. 9 at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs.
