Three people were transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center Thursday morning following a three-vehicle crash on the east end of the Sheid-Hopper Bypass. The report from the Mountain Home Police Department says the crash was caused by a driver traveling the wrong way on the highway from Buzzard Roost Road.

The report notes a vehicle driven by 77-year-old Alice Lock of Mountain Home was traveling east in the westbound lane against the traffic.

Lock’s car struck a vehicle head-on driven by 49-year-old Angelique Wilkerson of Mammoth Spring. The impact spun Wilkerson’s car backward where it collided with a third vehicle driven by 24-year-old Justin Clouse of Mountain Home.

Both the Lock and the Wilkerson vehicles spun 180 degrees. When Wilkerson’s vehicle came to rest, it was blocking both westbound lanes of traffic.

Clouse’s vehicle was driven off the roadway onto the shoulder.

Lock and a passenger in her vehicle, 78-year-old Sarah Wayland of Mountain Home, as well as Wilkerson, were all transported by ambulances to BRMC. The report notes Lock and passenger Wayland had possible injuries, while Wilkerson’s were described as “suspected serious.” Clouse was not injured.

The report indicates Wayland was extricated from the vehicle she was traveling in.

All three vehicles were towed from the scene of the 10:11 a.m. accident.
