A trip to the state championship game is on the line for the Salem High School football team. The Greyhounds will be back on their home field, as they meet Fordyce in the semifinals of the Class 2A State Playoffs.

Salem is 10-1 on the season, as they are coming off a quarterfinal victory over Carlisle at Bomber Stadium in Mountain Home. Greyhounds’ head coach Clay Wiggins says if his team plays the way they’re capable, they have a good chance of punching their ticket to War Memorial Stadium next week.

Fordyce will bring a record of 11-2 on the year. This is a Redbug team that has spent a good chunk of the season ranked No. 1 in Class 2A by the Arkansas Sports Media, and Wiggins says it’s easy to see why with the talent they have on their roster.
