MHHS basketball teams to compete in Cabot tourney semifinals

High school basketball makes up the local Friday schedule, as both of Mountain Home’s teams will compete in the semifinals of the Cabot Pre-Holiday Classic.
The Lady Bombers will take the court first, as they meet Mount St. Mary. Mountain Home is 5-0 on the season after beating Little Rock McClellan on Thursday. The Belles advanced with a victory over Lonoke. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m
The Mountain Home boys will have the last game of the night, as they will be paired with Cabot. The Bombers’ victory over Beebe on Thursday sent their record to 3-2. The host Panthers moved to the semifinals after they invoked the mercy rule on Lonoke. The gametime is set for 8:30.

Mountain View’s girls will compete in the semifinals of the Mark Martin Automotive/Lyon College High School Tournament at Batesville. It will be a battle between Lady Yellowjackets as Mountain View faces Wynne at 7.

In other high school basketball, Cotter travels to Decatur, Norfork makes the trip to Eros to take on Bruno-Pyatt, Flippin heads to Eureka Springs, Yellville-Summit travels to Fayetteville to play Haas Hall Academy, Lutie makes the trip to Chadwick, Dora’s girls host Cabool, Salem entertains Bay, Calico Rock heads to St. Joe, Izard County travels to Omaha, Marshall is home against Heber Springs, Timbo makes the trip to Hattieville to meet Wonderview, Rural Special hosts Sacred Heart for homecoming, Bergman heads to Rose Bud, and Valley Springs entertains Clinton.
