Two livestock owners in Boone County have reported cattle thefts to law enforcement.

Boone County Sheriff Mike Moore says the thefts occurred on property on Tar Kiln Road in the Bergman area and in the Lead Hill area off of State Highway 14 East.

Sheriff Moore says there are five total head missing. The missing cattle include one 500-600 pound heifer, with a tag numbered 802 on Oct. 28; one black Angus steer, with a yellow tag numbered 903 with brand TFW; one black 4-week-old Angus calf, with an orange or yellow tag numbered 951 with brand TFW, which were believed to have been taken on or around Dec. 3; and two black Angus cows approximately 6-to-7-years old weighing between 1,500-1,600 pounds. The last two cows were discovered missing around Nov. 1.

Anyone with information related to these thefts is asked to call the Boone County Sheriff’s Office at 870-741-8404. All reporters may remain anonymous.

The sheriff’s department is also asking local ranchers to make a head count of their stock and be on alert for any suspicious activity.
