A Mountain Home man was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading no contest to drug-related charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Tuesday.
Thirty-six-year-old Stephen Israel Osborne was arrested in mid-June when a vehicle in which he was a passenger was stopped by a Mountain Home Police officer, and drugs were found.
According to court records, the stop was initiated when the officer saw a brake light on the vehicle was not working. When the license plate was checked, it came back to a similar vehicle, but one of a different color.
At the time of the traffic stop, Osborne was reported to be an active parolee with a search waiver on file.
During the search, the officer found a black pouch containing a smoking pipe with suspected methamphetamine on it. In addition, a folded lottery ticket contained suspected methamphetamine.
The articles were reported to have been found in a baseball cap along with Osborne’s cellphone.
A backpack in the vehicle contained a syringe with a clear liquid substance. The affidavit does not indicate if the liquid was field-tested.
Osborne was charged with possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia used to ingest the drug.
