Volunteer firefighters in Ozark County were kept busy Christmas morning with not one, not two, but three house fires in the county. Two people in one of the fires in Bakersfield received burns, but they are not believed to be serious. No other injuries were reported.

KYTV says the first fire was reported at 1:45 Christmas morning in Bakersfield. Bakersfield Fire Chief Greg Watts says the fire likely started near the stove in the kitchen. One man suffered burns on his foot and another man had burns on his head and neck. Five departments battled that blaze.

Dora firemen were among the departments helping with the blaze in Bakersfield. As they returned to their firehouse, they discovered a house fire in Dora. Fire Chief Monte Shipley says the homeowner got out of the burning structure prior to the roof collapsing. The fire is believed to be electrical in nature and started in the attic.

KYTV says the third fire was reported at 9:30 in Gainesville and is believed to have started in the kitchen. No one was home at the time the blaze started. Assistant Gainesville Fire Chief John Russo says a fire hydrant in the front yard helped firefighters keep the blaze from destroying the house.
