Ronnie Montrose, Keith St. John; Courtesy of Keith St. JohnA slew of well-known musicians will participate in the fifth annual Ronnie Montrose Remembered tribute concert celebrating the late rock guitar great’s music that will take place January 17 in Anaheim, California.
The show will be held at M3 Live Anaheim Event Center during the 2020 edition of The NAMM Show, the popular annual music-equipment conference. The event’s confirmed lineup includes REO Speedwagon guitarist Dave Amato, Night Ranger guitarist Brad Gillis, Vanilla Fudge drummer Carmine Appice, ex-Scorpions drummer James Kottak, longtime Dokken guitarist George Lynch, former Ted Nugent singer/guitarist Derek St. Holmes, ex-Great White singer Jack Russell, and many others.
The concert will feature performances of songs from throughout Ronnie’s long career, including tunes by his namesake group, Montrose, as well as Van Morrison, Edgar Winter and Gamma. It also will feature surprise cameos, guest speakers and rare video clips of Ronnie.
The show is being produced by longtime Montrose lead singer Keith St. John, who also will perform at the event.
“Ronnie’s contribution to rock music in the early ’70s was the rock ‘n’ roll bible for many of the up and coming great American rock guitarists for next two decades,” St. John says in a statement. “I really want to give those who really appreciate Ronnie the chance to get together in a loving dynamic concert setting where we can all really dig in and enjoy each other through the commonality of Ronnie’s music.”

Montrose died by suicide in March 2012 after a long battle with cancer.
