Courtesy of RhinoJust a reminder that the fourth annual Day of The Doors celebration takes place Saturday, January 4, at and around the site of the Morrison Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

As previously reported, Doors guitarist Robby Krieger will participate in the celebration; he’ll sign autographs, play an acoustic set with actor/musician Dennis Quaid and take part in a Q&A session.

Doors drummer John Densmore hasn’t been confirmed to appear at this year’s Day of The Doors, but he tells Forbes that having the annual celebration feels “Pretty amazing,” adding, “I guess it’s gonna kind of build every year, which is really sweet.”

In conjunction with the event, the Morrison Hotel’s façade and front window have been restored so fans can take pictures where renowned photographer Henry Diltz snapped The Doors’ photo for the Morrison Hotel album cover.

Among the ticketed activities scheduled for the gathering are a sneak-peek screening of the new concert film/documentary The Doors: Break On Thru — A Celebration of Ray Manzarek, and a 10th anniversary screening of the When You’re Strange documentary. Break On Thru will be shown in theaters across the U.S. on February 12.

Tickets are available at EventBrite.com. The Q&A with Krieger and his performance with Quaid will take place before the Break On Thru screening, at 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively. The performance also will be streamed on The Doors’ Facebook page.

Other planned Day of The Doors attractions include a Doors-curated photo exhibit at the nearby Morrison Hotel Gallery featuring rare images taken by Diltz, and a pop-up merch shop.

In addition, a raffle will be held offering the chance to have your photo taken at the hotel by Diltz himself, with the money raised benefiting the L.A. homeless charity The Midnight Mission.
