George Pimentel/Getty ImagesLast month, founding Guess Who singer/keyboardist Burton Cummings posted messages on his Facebook page hinting that a reunion tour featuring him and the band’s original lead guitarist, Randy Bachman, could be in the works for 2020. While no official news about the trek has been announced, Cummings posted a new Facebook note on Sunday suggesting that the outing is very close to happening.

“Seems that ‘both parties’ want this, so now it’s just a matter of timing and logistics,” Burton wrote. “No one lives forever, and methinks ‘it’s time’…”

As previously noted, the last time the two veteran rockers toured together was on the 2009 Bachman-Cummings trek. After the tour, the former band mates apparently had a falling out over issues involving The Guess Who’s publishing, something Randy discussed in a 2014 article in Toronto newspaper The Star.

Signs that Bachman and Cummings had mended their relationship first emerged this past summer.

In July of 2019, they played a full concert together at Toronto’s Casa Loma at a fundraiser for Canada’s Walk of Fame.  Then, in August, Randy joined Burton for three songs during Cummings’ show at Toronto’s CNE Bandshell.

Neither Cummings nor Bachman have the rights to the Guess Who name, and the current incarnation of the group only features one founding member — drummer Garry Peterson.
