For fans purchasing tickets to his forthcoming shows, Hay is offering a VIP upgrade that will include a pre-show meet-and-greet with him, with all proceeds going toward the New South Wales Rural Fire Service in Australia.

As has been widely reported, widespread bushfires in Australia have left 20 people dead, destroyed more than 2,000 buildings and killed hundreds of millions of animals.  One of areas that has been affected by the fires is Cobargo — a village in the Australian state of New South Wales — where Colin used to own property and where he wrote the classic Men at Work hit, “Who Can It Be Now?”

“Cobargo, at this very minute, like so much of Southern New South Wales and parts of [the state of] Victoria, is in trouble, big trouble,” says Hay.

He adds, “If you’re coming along to a show and you’re thinking about splashing out for the meet and greet, go for it. And know that your hard-earned [money] is going to support a great and honorable organization, made up of brave people who risk their lives in the face of ever-more-furious fires.”

The tour kicks off February 27 in Santa Barbara, California, and is mapped out through a May 10 concert in Dallas. Colin is planning to perform some songs at the shows from a new solo album that’s due out later in 2020.

Colin also is a member of Ringo Starr‘s All Starr Band, and will join that group when it hits the road in late May.
