Thursday hoops results include rough trip to Paragould for MHJH teams

It was a rough night for the Mountain Home Junior High basketball teams, as they dropped three of four games at Paragould.

The Junior Bombers fell by a score of 34-25. Colby Lockhart led the scoring with eight points, as the ninth grade boys fall to 4-12.

The Junior Lady Bombers lost to Paragould 32-16 to fall to 9-6. Cate Jackson scored nine for Mountain Home.

In the eigth grade boys’ game, Paragould defeated Mountain Home 22-18. The Eighth  Grade Bombers are now 5-5 on the season.

The lone Mountain Home win on the night came in the eighth grade girls’ game 22-12.

The Mountain Home seventh grade girls picked up a 29-7 win at Melbourne.

The Izard County junior high teams swept Rural Special.

The Junior Cougars were 47-23 winners. Jude Everett scored 14 points, and Noah Stevenson had 11, as they improve to 11-6.

The Junior Lady Cougars are now 14-4 on the season after winning 37-6. Ava Lewis paced Izard County with 14 points.

In high school hoops, Mountain Home Christian Academy (MHCA) won a pair of games at home over Riverview Christian.

MHCA won the varsity girls’ contest 63-28. Caroline Robinson led a balanced attack with 18 points, Hayley Woods scored 13 and Naomi Spray added 12.

MHCA took the varsity boys’ game 84-52. Caleb Spray led the way with 20 points, Philip Leone scored 14, Landon Jines had 13, and Weston Weaver scored 12.

The Gainesville girls beat county rival Dora 52-28.
