AR Highway Commission approves projects in Baxter, Marion counties

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved bids for improvements to roadways in Baxter and Marion counties, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation officials.

In Baxter County, the project will resurface approximately .6 miles of State Highway 345 between U.S. Highway 62 and Gassville.

Twin Lakes Quarrys, Inc. of Mountain Home was awarded the contract at $139,482.

Completion is expected in early 2020.

In Marion County, the project will resurface .9 miles of various city streets in Summit, including Pike Street, Washington Street, Pittenger Avenue, Eugene Street and Water Tower Lane.

Twin Lakes Quarrys, Inc. was awarded the contract at $152,129.

Completion is expected in mid 2020.

Both construction projects are scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting.
