A 24-year-old woman made an emotional appeal for mercy during an appearance in Baxter County Circuit Thursday.

Dakota Frasier, whose last listed address was in Theodosia, is charged with breaking into three homes and stealing items.

The break-ins were reported at residences along Glenstone, Ridgecrest and McClure in Mountain Home in late June last year.

Items stolen included prescription medications and a wallet. One victim reported the items stolen had an estimated value of $600.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Frasier was arrested June 23 on outstanding warrants. A search of the vehicle she occupied with a co-defendant yielded items reported stolen from the three homes.

She pled guilty to the charges in October last year, with sentencing put over until Thursday. No plea agreement was reached in the case, and she will be sentenced by Circuit Judge Gordon Webb.

During her appearance before the court, Frasier went into the efforts she has made to repair what she termed “the wreckage of my life.” She told Judge Webb, “I now eat, breathe and sleep recovery.”

Frasier’s attorney, Mark Cooper, said his client had taken steps on her own to turn her life around. He said she was “deserving of a second chance.”

Prosecuting Attorney David Ethredge said he appreciated the effort Frasier had made to get her life back on track.

But, Ethredge told the court it was his policy in residential burglary cases to seek prison sentences.

Ethredge said the state recommended a sentence of at least eight years in prison in Frasier’s case.

He said Frasier had violated the homes of three sets of victims. “Your house is where you feel safe, and she went into homes and took things. There has to be consequences for what she did.”

The prosecutor said Frasier’s actions “put homeowners at risk, and I am standing in for those victims.”

Cooper argued, “It would be counter productive to send Frasier to prison.”

Letters were presented to Judge Webb written on Frasier’s behalf. A copy of the statement she made to the court was also given to the judge.

Judge Webb said he would take the information under advisement and have a ruling ready on sentencing next week.

Members of Frasier’s family attended the session.
