A Mountain Home woman who has a lengthy history of arrests is back in the Baxter County Detention Center following her arrest Tuesday for a home burglary. Twenty-seven-year-old Vanessa Henschel is facing six charges, including four felonies, for the incident on County Road 15 north of Midway.

According to the affidavit from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the victim arrived at home from work and saw his truck being driven down his driveway before pulling up next to the house where Henschel allegedly got out of the truck and attempted to enter the residence through the open garage door. The homeowner attempted to stop Henschel by grabbing her when she hit him in the side of the head and then grabbed a pair of limb clippers and attempted to hit him with them. At this point, the homeowner went to a neighbor’s house to call for help.

Investigators determined entry to the house had been made through a kitchen window. Henschel was reportedly wearing clothing belonging to the homeowner’s wife while her clothes were found in the garage with blood on them. Henschel also had blood on her hands and was allegedly wearing a bracelet belonging to the homeowner’s wife.

Henschel has been charged with two felony counts of theft of property, felony counts of aggravated residential burglary and criminal mischief in the first degree, along with misdemeanor counts of battery in the third degree and criminal trespass.

The sheriff’s office says this is the 13th time Henschel has been booked into the Baxter County Detention Center since 2010 on a variety of felony and misdemeanor charges.

Henschel is on probation for several earlier incidents of violence. She was arrested last July for allegedly punching her father several times. In February of 2016, she is accused of stabbing a friend several times at a local motel.
