Two people are being held in the Stone County Detention Center charged with allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint Jan. 25.

According to the probable cause affidavits filed Wednesday, 21-year-old Kristin Hicks and 20-year-old Dakota Acklin, both of Mountain View, are being held on $200,000 bonds.

A male victim in the case told law enforcement he knew Acklin from being in the Arkansas Department of Human Services’ Division of Youth Services together.

He said Acklin contacted him on Facebook asking him if he had any “smoke,” referring to marijuana, he could sell him. Acklin asked that they meet at the bridge on South Bayou and Mill Pond Road, noting a GPS would not be able to direct the victim to his residence.

The male victim, accompanied by a female, arrived at the designation location near the bridge where they allege Hicks and Acklin were waiting.

The male victim exited his vehicle to give Acklin a hug. He said that’s when Acklin pulled a semi automatic handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the man’s head, directing him to the ground.

Acklin reportedly went through the victim’s pockets, taking $120s, along with his iPhone 11.

While this was taking place, Hicks allegedly entered the passenger side of the man’s vehicle and asked the female where her money was located.

When the woman advised she did not have any money, Hicks reportedly took her iPhone 11 from her lap. Hicks then directed the female out of the vehicle and to pop its hood.

The woman said she complied, with Hicks reportedly pulling on some wires before closing the hood.

Acklin and Hicks then reportedly left.

Despite apparent efforts to disable the victims’ vehicle, they were able to drive to a nearby gas station and call 911 at approximately 5:40 p.m.

A search warrant was conducted at a nearby residence on Saturday evening, with a fully loaded 9 mm semi automatic pistol located under a mattress. Also under the mattress was a baggie of marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia.

Online jail records indicate Acklin was booked into the Stone County Detention Center just over an hour after the reported incident at 6:48 p.m., with Hicks booked at 9:36 that evening.

They are both charged with felony counts of aggravated robbery and theft of property, as well as misdemeanor counts of interference with emergency communication. Hicks’ charges also reflect a felony accomplice liability.
