The main project of the Rotary Club of Mountain Home is to award scholarships to area students from Cotter, Mountain Home and Norfork. For the past few years, the club has donated to “The Promise” at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) to provide an opportunity for every Mountain Hone High School (MHHS) student to attend the local college, tuition-free.

Beyond this initiative, the MH Rotary club awards about $10,000 in scholarships to Baxter County students, all made possible by the annual Rotary pancake day.

Scholarship application forms are now available from each Baxter County high school or on the Mountain Home Rotary Facebook page.

Students may copy and paste the document into a Word format, complete it and return it to an address at the bottom of the form.

Scholarships are awarded based on need, academic achievement, community involvement and future leadership potential.

Rotary applications are for MHHS students not attending ASUMH. They should apply through “The Promise” scholarship program.

The deadline for this year’s application is April 1. Applications must be postmarked on or before April 1.

Students who receive a Rotary scholarship will be notified by their area Baxter County high school or home-school instructor.
