Surviving Lovin' Spoonful members to reunite at L.A.-area tribute to the band

Wild Honey PresentsThe surviving original Lovin’ Spoonful members — John SebastianJoe Butler and Steve Boone — will reunite and perform together for the first time in nearly two decades at the end of the month.  The band will be honored at a charity concert, set for February 29, at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, California.

This will mark the first time Sebastian, Butler and Boone have all performed together since The Lovin’ Spoonful were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.

Other artists who have joined the concert’s lineup include The MonkeesMicky Dolenz, Susan Cowsill, Marshall Crenshaw, Carnie Wilson, Moby Grape‘s Peter Lewis, Claudia Lennear, Dave Alvin, Iain Matthews, Bangles bassist Annette Zilinskas, Dramarama‘s John Easdale and actor/musician Bill Mumy.

As previously reported, the show is the latest in a series of themed tribute concerts staged by The Wild Honey Orchestra, a rotating collective of Los Angeles-area musicians, in recent years to raise money for the Autism Think Tank charity.

Among the previously musicians taking part in the event are Cars guitarist Elliot Easton and Smithereens drummer Dennis Diken.

Tickets for the concert are on sale now at the Alex Theatre’s box office and AlexTheatre.org. In addition, a special GoFundMe.com page has been launched to raise additional money for the cause.

The Autism Think Tank is a non-profit organization that brings together top specialists via an online conference to work on solutions to issues faced by young people with autism.
