Texas man drowns after boat overturns on White River

A Texas man drowned after the boat he was in overturned last week on the White River. Sixty-year-old George Lisenbe of Lubbock was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center Jan. 30 where was pronounced dead.

According to a Baxter County Sheriff’s Office report made available this week, 911 dispatch was contacted about an overturned boat with three individuals on board. All three occupants were pulled from the water when the responding deputy arrived, with Lisenbe being administered CPR. A Baxter Regional ambulance transported Lisenbe and another occupant, 60-year-old Neal Gray of Frisco, Texas, to the hospital. Gray was treated for hypothermia.

Witnesses and the other occupant stated they were pulling up a chain when the boat capsized. After all occupants were pulled from the water, they were taken to Rainbow Drive Resort.
